William Henry Tanner, 88, of Onalaska, Texas passed away on May 16, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
He was born November 22, 1935, in Houston, Texas to Elmer Arthur Tanner and Nannie Pearl Porter.
William enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 where he was an electrician aboard ship, received a Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable discharge after 4 years of service. He married his wife, Dolores, in January 1955 and they had 4 children. He lived overseas with his family while working on offshore oil rigs. He had a wide variety of jobs over the years: forklift mechanic, TDCJ Maintenance, trucking long haul driver, and his own vending machines business.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dolores Ann Green; his son, William Anthony Tanner and his grandson, Levi Tanner.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving sister, Margie Sue Anders; children: Robin Tanner, Amber Puckett and husband David, David Tanner and wife Deborah; grandchildren: Robin Jr., Cavin, Suxie, Dannielle, Samantha, Rachel, Phillip, Timothy, Heather, Shylow; great-grandchildren: Chance, Jessica, Bethany, Allen, Christopher, Lucian, Carmen, Kennah, Drake, Jordyn and a host of loving family members and friends.
