Serena Josey Buckner

Serena Josey was born on March 24, 1935 to Katherine and George Josey in Madisonville, Texas.

Serena received her education in Cameron, Texas. In 1951, Serena was united in holy matrimony to Sheb Buckner and to this union five (5) children were born: Sheb Jr.,  Diana, Rickey, Joyce and David.

Her and her family relocated to Houston, Texas and Serena obtained employment with Shipley’s Donuts where she enjoyed working. After thirty-five (35) years of employment, Serena retired as a Manager. After retirement, Serena spent her time relaxing and enjoying time with her family.

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, Serena went home to be with the Lord at the loving age of 86.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and George Josey and two (2) brothers, James Josey and Joe Josey.

Serena leaves to cherish her memory: five (5) children, Sheb Jr., Diana (Reginald), Rickey, Joyce and David (Diana); twelve (12) grandchildren; seventeen (17) great-grandchildren; four (4) sisters and a host of  other relatives and friends.
