Richard Earl Davis

Richard Earl Davis was born on November 14, 1949, in Somerville, Texas to Mattie D. Davis. He was the first of two children.

Richard accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He often attended New Beginnings Christian Center, SE under the leadership of Pastor Felecia K. Medlow.

He met Patsy Ruth Johnston and they were united in holy matrimony for the next 53 years. To this union was one daughter.

Richard was a loving, funny and happy person. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed working at Holloway Houston for over 30+ years. He loved fishing, dancing, playing dominos and fixing up his house.

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, Richard departed this earthly life and answered his Master’s call to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruth Davis; mother, Mattie D. Davis; sister, Dorothy Barrett; brother, Uncle BB; nephew, Kenneth Wise and uncles: Walsh Davis and Irving Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy his daughter: Jennie Williams; Granddaughters: Kevanna Davis and Keanna Davis; Great-grandchildren: Dexter Jr., Kadiann, Kahza, Armani, Khloe, Khareem, Ke’ Mauri, Da’ Mauri and Za’ Maurian; nephews: Larron Jones and Tyrone Lee and a host of other relatives and friends.
