Lewis Bernard Haywood was born to Dorothy Williams and John Haywood on January 8, 1968 in Houston, Texas. He was the last of seven children.
He received his education in the Houston Independent School District. He attended Cullen Middle School and Ross Shaw Sterling High School.
Lewis was an extremely independent child who never shied away from work. By the age of 16 he had his own car and was really good working with his hands. Handy work became a deep passion of his which led him to gaining employment with Bird Plumbing.
He eventually became and entrepreneur when he opened his own company, “Haywood Plumbing.” where he continued his passion of, “laying pipe,” as he loved to say.
“Haywood” as most people called him really enjoyed having a good time, spending time with his kids and listening to some good ole Johnny Taylor! Fishing was also at the top of his list.. even though his boat wasn’t worth nothing! He always managed to brighten up just about anybody’s day.
He was the type of person you couldn’t stay mad at long…even if you wanted to. Earlier this year he joined On Track Community Church under the leadership of Reverend Samuel Daniels, where he remained until his passing.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Jean Williams and John Willie Haywood; three sisters: Loretta Dockery, Elsie Lee Cooper and Bernadine Simpson and two brothers: Jimmy Lee Jackson and Felix Jackson.
He is survived by his eight children: April Calloway; Trina Haywood and Lewis Haywood, Jr. (Nicole); Johntrell Haywood, Janicka Haywood, Jonathan Haywood, Jenetta Haywood (Ruby) and Nathan Haywood (Robin); two grandchildren, Jatavious Haywood and Josiah Haywood; one brother, Steven Ray Williams and a host of bonus children, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
