Kia’’s life began on June 28, 1985. She was born to Darlene Brown and Llewellyn Richards at Harlem Hospital in New York, New York. She was the second child born to her mother, and had seven siblings.
She grew up in Brooklyn and the Bronx and attended Theodore Roosevelt High School.
Kia was extremely talented, she had a heart of gold, and was really good with her hands. This talent kept her gainfully employed in the construction industry. She had a special love for helping those who were less fortunate. You could often find her feeding the homeless.
In 2018, Kia was diagnosed with kidney failure and decided to relocate to Houston. She remained filled with joy and laughter, was always smiling and saying, “In a life without laughter, there would be no joy.”
Kia J. Brown, lost her battle with kidney failure on August 21, 2023.
She leaves to cherish her memory are her mother, Darlene Kendle; her father, Llewellyn Richards; 8 siblings: Shadrach, Regina, Llewellyn, Jr., Cornell, Ebony, Jade, Tony, Oral and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kia will be forever be loved and never forgotten.
