“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her laughter a gift to all who knew her.”
Karmen Denise Bracks-Freeman was born on April 2, 1964, to John and Zearline Bracks in Wichita, Kansas. She was a proud graduate of Rider High School and one of ten children. Karmen shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings and often reminded them with a smile, “I’m the baby—you’ve got to love me!”
Later in life, Karmen found true love when she married Calvin Freeman in 1999 in Katy, Texas. Karmen devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family as a loving stay-at-home mother and grandmother, caring for her children and grandchildren with unwavering love and devotion.
Karmen was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose life was marked by joy, laughter, and unconditional love for her family. Her joyful spirit and funny personality could light up any room, leaving smiles and lasting memories wherever she went. She lived life fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and laughter will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Karmen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Zearline and John R. Bracks; her sisters, Marietta Bracks, Sharon Hollomon, and Luressa Kaguma; her brothers, Harvey Bracks and Robert Bracks; and her beloved granddaughter, Bailey Wade.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 26 years, Calvin Freeman; her children, Syna’ra Francis, KeAundra Bracks, Kenneth Sayles, Sydney Sayles, and Breanna Bracks; her grandchildren, Syann Francis, Chad Francis, Caden Francis, Ashton Smart, Marley Hood, Mallory Hood, Ma’Layne Sayles, King Sayles, Maliyah Sayles, Kahleya Sayles, Myah Mobley, Malana Mobley, Bry’Leigh Bracks, and A’Yaan Wade; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
