James T. Lockhart, Jr was born on May 19, 1954, to the union of James and Rosalie Lockhart in Houston, Texas. He was affectionately called QT and was also known and loved by many as Majik. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.
He received his education from Crawford Elementary, E.O. Smith Middle School and he graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1973. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served four years (1974-1978). He was stationed in California and while serving, he met and married Lilli Yvonne Amacker. To this union four children were born: Lakisha, Chanice, Jahmal & James (Dominic).
He returned to Houston after his term, where he met and married Bettie Woosley on June 11, 1988. To this union he gained a third daughter, Kia Woosley.
In 1989, he met Alieen Regester and they were married on July 12, 2013. He was loved and well taken care of by his wife until he was called home to be with the Lord.
James loved sports. He was an avid fan of all of the Houston teams (Texans, Astros & Rockets). He was known to many as the “Domino King” and taught all who wanted to learn how to play. He had such an outgoing personality and his presence was felt in any room he entered.
James was a man of many talents. He was a well-known car salesman and manager. He mentored and trained many of the car salesmen and he received several awards, Car Salesman of the Month as well as Salesman of the Year, to name a few. He was an entertainer, a DJ, a Club Manager and he also an entrepreneur. He owned several clubs in the Houston area and also won Club Owner of the Year, more than once. He also worked for Oshman’s Sporting Goods for a few years before he left the corporate workforce.
James (Majik) peacefully surrendered to God’s calling on May 3, 2023, in the comfort of his home that he shared with his loving wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosalie Lockhart and two brothers, Willard Jones and Alvin Lockhart.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Alieen Lockhart; his children: Lakisha Lockhart, Chanice James (John), Jahmal Lockhart (Kathy), James “Dominic” Lockhart and Kia Woosley; one sister, Lois Lockhart; one brother, Bernard Lockhart; fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
