Jacquelyn Bailey Obituary

Jacquelyn Marquis Bailey was born on November 4, 1985, in Houston, Texas, to Sophie Bailey and James Donald Bailey, Jr. From a young age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at New Light Christian Church in Houston.

Known affectionately as Jacque, she was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Willowridge High School and went on to live a life marked by strength, compassion, and resilience. Jacque faced life’s challenges with unwavering determination and courage, always serving as a pillar of support for those around her. Her spirit of perseverance and her capacity for love left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

Jacque found joy in mentoring youth as a Boxing Instructor, inspiring many with her energy and dedication. However, her greatest professional accomplishment was founding Avatar               Training Fitness Facility—a gym where she poured her heart and soul into helping others understand the value of health and wellness. She trained and guided anyone willing to learn, leaving a powerful legacy of strength and service.

On September 24, 2025, at the age of 39, Jacque departed this life unexpectedly. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Gracie Guice and Jacqueline Bailey Stabler, and her cherished father, James Donald Bailey, Sr.—her heart and soul.

Jacque’s memory lives on in those who loved her dearly: her son, Jayvaugh Donald Bailey; her parents, Sophie and James Bailey; her brother, Levon Bailey; her nephew, Uri Bailey; and her niece, Ava Bailey. She is also remembered fondly by a large and loving extended family, including her aunts: Sheila Timmons (Chuck), Katrina Washington (Leroy), Wendy White (Toney), Valery Cotton (Luther), Bertha White, Ida Mae Tyler, Gwendolyn McLennan, Yetta Jones (Winky), Jennifer Spears, Krystal McMahon (Michael); her uncle, George Robinson; her cherished group lovingly known as “Jackie’s grandkids”; and a host of cousins and extended  family members.

As we mourn Jacque’s passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived—one filled with love, courage, kindness, and generosity. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the impact she made will endure forever.
