Catherine Hall Lawrence Obituary

Catherine Hall was born on March 12, 1929 in Houston, Texas. She was the third child born to Nellie and Herbert Hall, Sr. She was affectionately called “Sister.” She was a devout Christian, growing up she attended True Vine Baptist Church.

She always had a warm smile, a helping hand and encouraging words for everyone. She loved reading the bible, writing, sewing, playing the piano and singing hymns to the LORD.

She graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School and went on to attend Texas Southern University, receiving a degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduating from TSU, she relocated to Los Angeles, California. This is where she became a Registered Nurse and began her nursing career at LA County  Hospital.

She met and later married David Lawrence and to this union her twin daughters, LaToya and LaTonja, were born. They were the loves of her life.

In 1981, Catherine lost her mother, Mrs. Nellie Hall. Shortly after her passing, Catherine retired and her and her children moved back to Texas to be near the family.
